Introduction:
The Layfield Group has more than forty years of experience in plastic membranes and packaging solutions.
With production facilities across North America and a distribution base that reaches around the world, the Layfield Group is a global leader in geosynthetic technology.
The company’s corporate headquarters are in Richmond, B.C., where they also have one of their key manufacturing facilities for geosynthetics. Recently, when Layfield needed to have a new printing line installed at the facility in Richmond, they called Pro-Tech for help.
The Challenge:
The printing line needed to be installed into a fully operational manufacturing plant. The components, therefore, needed to be well prepared beforehand so that the installation could be swift and efficient. As well, the manufacturer of the printing equipment had strict instructions and requirements for a qualified installation. In addition, Layfield expected that the new printing line would be operational as quickly and efficiently as possible, namely on time and on budget.
The Solution:
Layfield trusted ProTech to deliver on the installation. First, we received all of the necessary components at our storage facility in Delta, B.C. We offloaded the incoming trucks and then our team proceeded to de-stuff the shipping containers and remove the shipping supports. After that was completed, we transported the components to Layfield’s plant in Richmond.
According to a detailed schedule, we then moved the components into the active manufacturing plant, and, under the direction of the manufacturer’s representative, assembled and leveled the components as required. After thorough examination and testing, the new equipment was ready for use.
The Outcome:
Layfield received a new printing line within the constraints of their schedule and their budget.
The installation project was completed safely, efficiently, and according to the expectations of the client, the manufacturer, and all of us at ProTech.
